Bars & Restaurants Inside Fairmont Breakers Long Beach

Visiting the bars and restaurants inside Fairmont Breakers Long Beach is a wonderful way to experience the historic, luxury hotel. The culinary program is overseen by Executive Chef Jared Reeves, previously the Executive Chef at Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, and the restaurants are helmed by chefs with deep ties to Long Beach and its culinary scene. LA SALA

Espresso bar by day and cocktail bar by night, La Sala is off the main lobby and looks out onto Ocean Boulevard. The decor is inspired by a 1930s garden solarium, with its green floral wallpaper and golden palm frond chandeliers. Enjoy breakfast pastries for a quick morning meal, order light appetizers for a snack in the afternoon, or try one of the bar’s classic cocktails in the evening. Fairmont Breakers’ La Sala is open from 7 AM to 11 PM.

NETTUNO

Set across the lobby from the main entrance, Nettuno is the hotel’s more casual restaurant, although it’s still an elegant affair, with its potted palms, walls adorned with a mosaic of modern art and glamorous photos, and its name conjuring the god of the sea. Chef Giuseppe Musso has created a menu of authentic Italian home cooking, and serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner daily. Locals will remember Musso from his previous position heading up Michael’s Downtown on The Promenade, where his woodfired pizzas earned accolades. Reservations at Nettuno, open 7 AM to 10 PM, are available on OpenTable.

ALTER EGO

This space represents a distinct departure, echoed by the change of scenery as you leave the bright white marble and plaster of the lobby and enter the darker and moodier coziness of Alter Ego, Fairmont Breakers’ jazz lounge and cocktail bar. The bar is a new hub for nightlife in Downtown Long Beach and harkens back to the hotel’s past as a celebrity hotspot in the 1920s and 30s. Find a romantic table for two near the stunning and dramatic floral mural or sit near the bar to enjoy live music Thursdays through Saturdays from 7 to 10 PM.

SKY ROOM

Sky Room, located on the hotel’s top floor, has a storied past as a fine dining destination in Long Beach since the 1930s. Enjoy old-school menu items with modern flair, like California Wagyu Beef Wellington and Oysters Rockefeller, and make it a special occasion and order from the Tsar Nicolai Caviar & Champagne Cart or try the Cherries Jubilee flambéed tableside. Chef Maxwell Pfeiffer, a Long Beach native and graduate of Cal State Long Beach, has worked at world-class restaurants across the country before returning to his hometown to lead Sky Room. The restaurant is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 5 to 10 PM, and reservations are available on OpenTable.

HALO

Appropriately named for its location on the Fairmont Breakers rooftop, Halo is an indoor-outdoor lounge with 360-degree views of Downtown Long Beach and beyond to Catalina Island and the Los Angeles skyline and Hollywood Hills. Enjoy a handcrafted cocktail or mocktail while a DJ spins records on the open-air patio. Halo will be a prime location for viewing the fireworks over Alamitos Bay on the Fourth of July and New Year’s Eve, and an excellent spot to enjoy spectacular sunsets any time of year.
