Long Beach Convention Center: Customizable, Turnkey Spaces for Your Next Event

Imagine your meeting at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, a one-of-a-kind facility for your one-of-a-kind event. Its turnkey, flexible, state-of-the-art meeting and event spaces–upgraded to the tune of $50 million–include three adjoining exhibit halls, two theaters, an arena, four ballrooms, two VIP lounges and 34 meeting rooms. Yeah, it’s a lot … or it can be a little intimate. Customized to your specific needs, you have the freedom to choose not only the ideal space or spaces, but also the proper vibe and atmosphere you need to let you and others be at your best. Here’s some of what you can choose from.

MEETING SPACES

The convention center’s exhibition halls feature a combined 224,000 square feet of contiguous space that can be utilized for all types of conventions, trade and consumer shows as well as special events. The center’s 34 total meeting rooms can also be used in myriad ways. The 20 Promenade rooms are located off the Promenade Lobby and include the Promenade Ballroom and the 20,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom, offer maximum flexibility for pre-function receptions. The lobby’s glass dome provides illumination from Long Beach’s near uninterrupted sunshine, while colorful LED lights lend a chic contemporary feel in the evening. The 14 Seaside meeting rooms include the Seaside Ballroom and have easy access to The Cove, Terrace Theater and Plaza. A recent $50 million investment in the redesign and re-creation of the center, including free meeting room WIFI and pod-inspired seating, gives attendees new ways to connect.

GREAT OUTDOORS

Take advantage of Long Beach’s temperate climate with an outdoor event at one–or both–of the center’s cool open-air spaces. The Cove, located below street level in front of the Seaside Meeting Rooms, offers an arresting visual vibe as a half dozen crystal chandeliers, unique light fixtures and more than 110 LED stage and pinpoint lights combine with a vivid array of decorative marine motifs to create an enchanting mix of urban elegance meets seaside fantasy. The Terrace Plaza, located in front of the Terrace Theater, presents as an outdoor lounge with glowing installations, comfy seating and outdoor fire pits arranged around the spectacular water fountain centerpiece. Both spaces are outfitted with sound and lighting capabilities to be customized to accommodate most any style event. There is a wide range of dining, drinking and entertainment options including DJs, high-flying aerial acts and fun and unique games … Neon ping pong, anyone?

THEATERS

Remember, it’s called the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, meaning you have access to utilize unique theater spaces that regularly host some of the biggest names in arts and entertainment. The historic Terrace Theater, which has presented the likes of Richard Pryor, Tony Bennett and the Long Beach Symphony, is a 3,051-seat venue that can be utilized on its own or in concert with the outdoor plaza. Its three-story glass-walled lobby’s retro-chic architecture has unhindered views of downtown and the illuminated fountains and reflecting pool on the plaza. The elegant design and décor, from the dramatic lobby chandelier to cozy conversation nooks, complement the intimate scale of the Beverly O’Neill Theater. With just thirteen rows and a total of 825 seats arranged in a half-circle around a thrust stage, every audience member has a great view and will feel a part of the on-stage action.

GO BIG … OR INTIMATE

Another unique facet to the convention center is access to the Long Beach Arena, the iconic venue that has hosted Olympic events, Elvis, and the Rolling Stones. With revolutionary upgrades, including state-of-the-art sound design, the arena can be customized to meet your event's size and style. Even the ceiling can be raised or lowered to your needs, whether that’s for its 13,500 capacity or as the Pacific Ballroom which changes its shape, size and atmosphere on command thanks to its gigantic, moveable ceiling grid system that allows you to raise or lower the event center's entire ceiling to achieve the exact specifications you desire.

The adjoining Pacific Gallery & Patio’s contemporary décor, open fire pits and lush greenery set the scene, while the interior is a marvel of sky-high ceilings and glass to let in both California sunshine and downtown lights.
