National Beer Day
Celebrate National Beer Day in Long Beach!
April 7th is National Beer Day, and boy does Long Beach have some seriously great spots for you to celebrate! Long Beach has been in the news lately for our growth as a craft beer-loving city, so we wanted to highlight our favorite spots where you can sit down and enjoy a glass.
Beachwood BBQ & Brewery
Beachwood BBQ & Brewing is located in the Promenade strip of Downtown Long Beach and has grown exponentially in the craft beer scene. In fact, their beer has won many awards at events, which include the Great American Beer Festival, the World Beer Cup, and the San Diego International Beer Competition. Try a full glass of the ones that catch your eye, or try multiple brews with a flight. It’s really hard to go wrong here. Plus, they have delicious BBQ style meals to pair along with your drink of choice.
Beachwood Blendery
You thought we were done talking about Beachwood, didn’t you?! Well, we couldn’t do that just yet! Not without sharing about their newly opened Beachwood Blendery, located around the corner from Beachwood BBQ & Brewing. They opened The Blendery specifically for them to craft lambic & sour beers, and they are glorious. This location is open only on weekends and acts as a tasting room for these drinks, so be sure to drop by for taste.
Congregation Ale House
Congregation Ale House is a fun and unique place with church-like features. It’s almost like a twisted “church” for craft beer lovers. Come here for the restaurant/brewery’s in-house brews, which include names like “Dark of the Covenant”, “Hop Communion”, and “Consummatum”, or for popular craft beer faves on their long tap list. Congregation is a must!
Dog Haus
First of all, the food at Dog Haus is absolutely mouth-watering! This place will draw you to it from its menu alone, but their Biergarten is a great spot to toss back a glass of craft beer. Guarantee you’ll love this place like we do!
These Long Beach restaurants/breweries are making waves in the city, which make them great for your National Beer Day celebration and beyond. While these spots are already in business and pouring craft beer, Long Beach has some exciting new breweries that will be added to the mix in the near future! Keep an eye out for Ballast Point (taking over the building formally known as Khoury’s at Alamitos Bay Landing), Smog City Brewing (taproom coming to SteelCraft in Bixby Knolls), and Independent Cider House (taking over the Peppercorn building in Downtown Long Beach). Exciting things are brewing in Long Beach!
