Enjoy Outdoor Dining in Long Beach

Not only does Long Beach have one of the country’s most exciting dining scenes, but it also offers a bevy of choices to enjoy great food while enjoying the great outdoors. Located in some of the city’s most popular dining districts, here then is the inside scoop on some of the city’s most popular outdoor dining spots.

BELMONT SHORE

Roe Seafood’s (5374 Second St) cool coastal cuisine and casual vibe befits this Belmont Shore mainstay located across from picturesque Alamitos Bay. Enjoy a bite or creative cocktail on the street-side porch or beautiful and intimate back patio garden. Another ulta-popular Shore destination, Open Sesame (5215 Second St) offers exceptional Mediterranean fare amidst an indoor-outdoor layout that allows diners to take in the city as it ambles by on Second Street.

DOWNTOWN

Chef Dima Habibeh’s combination of classic Levantine cuisine–i.e. Cyprus, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine–with Southern California flair has earned Ammatoli (285 E Third St) numerous awards and a growing downtown footprint that includes a lovely, covered sidewalk dining area. Just a block away is Broken Spirits (300 The Promenade N) with its own, stylish outdoor space where you can enjoy all manner of great meat–from steaks to brisket to pork belly tacos–as well as its amazing lineup of meticulously crafted distilled spirits.

ALAMITOS/JUNIPERO BEACH

Located on the sand of Alamitos Beach, in the shadow of the Villa Riviera, Gaucho Beach (780 E Shoreline Dr) serves its Argentine and California cuisine in a two-story location bursting with energy and exceptional views. A few blocks south, also on the sand, Saltwater Deck (2630 E. Ocean Blvd) Saltwater Deck serves a wide ranging menu–breakfast burritos, tofu banh mi, pastrami sandwich–just steps from the ocean and next to the beach path.

WATERFRONT

Parkers' Lighthouse (435 Shoreline Village Drive) has long been a staple of Shoreline Village and lays claim to one of the best views of Rainbow Harbor as well as the Queen Mary. It also serves some exceptional seafood and steaks to go along with those eye-popping views. Sitting across the harbor from Parker’s is Fuego (700 Queensway Dr), the contemporary, Latin-infused restaurant and lounge next to the Queen Mary offering outdoor patio dining with unique views of Downtown Long Beach, and a stunning glimpse of the city’s evening skyline.
