Sandy Awards

The Sandy Awards is returning for its 2nd annual event! This event is held to celebrate and congratulate all of those who participated in our “Show Us Your Long Beach” photo & video contest, and it sure is a treat. If you attended last year’s Sandy Awards, then you know how much fun the event was, and how much we loved celebrating our talented, local videographers. This year will be even bigger than last, thanks to the added photo component. So, take a peek at last year’s awards ceremony and get excited about what’s to come March 24th at the Long Beach Convention Center, inside the beautiful Pacific Room!

You can’t have a movie night (or in our case, video night) without popcorn and candy! Each table was set up with snacks and water to set the mood. Plus, no seat was a bad seat! With a screen in the center and on each side of the stage, every guest had a clear shot of all the videos.

Special guests, such as our wonderful mayor, Mr. Robert Garcia, were Sandy Awards presenters. They spoke about the award category and gave a short video description for the one they were introducing. After their video played for the audience, award winners were brought up on stage and presented with their trophy, as well as their cash prize. Once all of the awards were presented and participants were thanked for their entries, the party started on the Terrace Plaza.

There was live music, food trucks, photo ops, and seating areas with fire pits!

It truly was a fun celebration. With the addition of photos in this year’s "Show Us Your Long Beach" contest, we will have a whole new component to showcase at the Sandy Awards, which we could not be more excited about! We want this year’s celebration to be even better than the last, all while keeping the focus the same…on YOU, our talented locals!
