BIXBY KNOLLS BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION
Promotes interests of its professional, service and retail members within the BIA.
The purpose of the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association is to promote the interests of its professional, service and retail members, to enhance the common areas within the BIA area, to facilitate the exchange of business information and ideas, and to promote the highest business and ethical standards. The BKBIA is a nonprofit organization of over 800 businesses that was founded in 1989 by the Long Beach City Council at the request of local businesses. It was incorporated in 1994 as a 501(c) 6 nonprofit. Each business in the District is assessd annually by the City of Long Beach and these funds are then returned to the BKBIA for activities focussed on revitalization, promotion, street aesthetics and security. The association is governed by an elected eleven member Board of Directors and association work is accomplished through voluntary committees working with an Executive Director and part time staff. The BKBIA Business District emcompasses the area boundedon the south by the 405 fwy, bounded on the east by Atlantic Ave., bounded on the west by Long Beach Blvd. Atlantic Avenue is bounded on the north by Del Amo Blvd. and by 44th St on LB Blvd.
