LONG BEACH RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE
A“home-away-from-home” for families of children undergoing treatment of life-threatening illnesses.
The Long Beach Ronald McDonald House is committed to creating a community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, courage and joy. It serves as a “home-away-from-home” for families of children undergoing treatment for cancer and other life-threatening illnesses at nearby hospitals and medical facilities. Our Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest. We believe that when a child is hospitalized the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed. Since opening our doors in December 2011, we have served over 4,000 families/over 15,000 people, facing some of the most critical and difficult times in their lives.
