Community Art Workshop

The Museum of Latin American Art will host its monthly Community Art Workshop on the theme of Celebrating Afrolatinx: Building Community through Miniature Architecture.

Come celebrate the African influence on Latin American in this hands-on art making community workshop!

In this 75-minute program, participants will discuss the significance of sustainable living practices in the Garifuna community and will create their own miniature cardboard home that represents the architecture from their homeland or local neighborhood. All materials are provided!

The miniature homes created in this workshop will be featured in our Miniature MOLAA Village presentation at the 2025 AfroLatinx Festival. This program will be led by Calvin Williams and community elder Bill Flores of the Garifuna Museum of Los Angeles.

Cost is $5.00 per person. Spaces are limited!
