Exhibition Opening: A Photographer and a Painter Walk Into a Bar

Loiter Galleries will host a reception for the opening of its latest exhibition, “A Photographer and a Painter Walk into a Bar,” which merges the distinct yet complementary works of Stacey Crockett and Denise Skeeter. Opening on Friday March 28 and on display through April 25, the exhibit playfully explores the intersection of two artistic mediums as Stacy Crockett photographs her travels around the globe and painter Denise Skeeter interprets those photographs in her paintings. The reception will include live music and the opportunity to meet the artists.

Skeeter is an established local painter who considers herself a metaphysical artist preferring to bend reality and reconstructing it. Crockett is a Long Beach based photographer who will be having her first gallery exhibit showcasing her unique perspective involving capturing simple moments in time, taking what objectively exists, selecting a small slice and removing it from its context.
