Film Screening | Fire on the Hill: The Cowboys of South Central LA
March 22, 5:00pm
Rancho Los Cerritos will host a film screening and panel discussion of “Fire On The Hill,” a critically acclaimed documentary feature film covering the story of the Black Cowboys of Compton and South Central LA, and their fight to preserve their culture by resurrecting an inner-city horse stable that was mysteriously burnt to the ground.
The film is followed by a Q&A with Director Brett Fallentine and Ghuan Featherstone, the film’s lead, as they share the challenges of making the film and the dramatic story that inspired it.
This event will take place outdoors and will be canceled in the event of rain. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs/blankets for seating for an evening under the stars and a chance to experience this incredible film, the beauty of the Rancho’s grounds and gardens, and the opportunity to visit its featured exhibition, Untold Legacies: Rethinking the American Cowboy.
Admission: $15 per person/ $25 per couple; tickets required for entry.
