Join Long Beach's 8th Annual Tree Lighting Dec. 5 – Brighter & Bigger Than Ever Before!
(NOVEMBER 28, 2022 – Long Beach, CA) Experience the joy of the holidays in Long Beach, brighter and bigger than ever before! Join Mayor Robert Garcia as he lights the tallest artificial Christmas tree in the L.A. area at the Long Beach Terrace Theater Plaza on December 5, 5-8 p.m. With performances from “The Nutcracker” by Long Beach Ballet, falling snow, Santa Claus, live music performances, food trucks and more, the 8th annual tree lighting promises to be a memorable start to the 2022 holiday season – culminating in a dazzling fireworks show.
The Plaza will be alight through the New Year with double the number of lights from last year, a 67-foot tall tree (17 feet taller!), and life-sized decorations perfect for creating holiday memories. Neighboring residential high-rises have been encouraged to compete with one another for the best holiday light displays, bathing the Terrace in a glow from above as well as below.
“Long Beach’s annual tree lighting is one of the best holiday traditions, and I am looking forward to counting down one last time as Mayor,” said Mayor Robert Garcia. “This celebration is a wonderful evening for all in the community to enjoy – stop by to see one of the tallest trees in the region light up, see snow fall, meet Santa Claus, and so much more.”
“The Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center invite residents and visitors to enjoy a free spectacular holiday production with dancing, singing, and festive fun for all,” said Steve Goodling, President & CEO of the Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We encourage residents and visitors alike to visit the Terrace Theater Plaza throughout the holidays, and to participate in our Santa Hat Scavenger Hunt and Holiday Magic Photo Contest to win cash prizes.”
The Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau has created two social media competitions to encourage residents and visitors to explore the holiday lights at the Terrace Theater Plaza, each running from December 5, 2022 through January 1, 2023!
