Brian Redman, born in England, is a former Formula One driver with a distinguished record in sports car racing and the World Sportscar Championship.
Redman was the winner of the first Long Beach Grand Prix in 1975. Redman's racing career has spanned more than six decades, with wins in the World Sportscar Championship, and notable wins such as the 1970 Targa Florio with a Porsche 908 and the 12 Hours of Sebring twice, in 1975 with a BMW Coupe and in 1978 with a Porsche 935.
For many years he was associated with the Chevron Marque, founded by Derek Bennett. Redman won F3000 races in 1974, 1975 and 1976 and was series champion at IMSA Camel GT in 1981 driving a Lola T600. Redman drove for Shadow Racing Cars in Fl. He also appeared in McLaren, Cooper and Alfa Romeo cars. He participated in 13 Grand Prix, debuting on January 1, 1968. He achieved 1 podium, and scored a total of 8 championship points. He was also the Daytona 24 Hours winner three times, won Spa 1000K four times and was the 1970 Springbok Series champion. Redman recently amazed the sportscar world by taking a test spin on the Porsche test track in Germany in a new RS Spyder and matching the times of Porsche's professional drivers.
