Ryan Hunter-Reay took the Grand Prix of Long Beach checkered flag in 2010, won the 2012 INDYCAR championship and the 2014 Indianapolis 500 during an outstanding career that spanned 19 seasons and included 18 wins and 72 Top-5 finishes.
Ryan Hunter-Reay took the Grand Prix of Long Beach checkered flag in 2010, won the 2012 INDYCAR championship and the 2014 Indianapolis 500 during an outstanding career that spanned 19 seasons and included 18 wins and 72 Top-5 finishes. He is also a two-time ESPY award winner (2013 and 2014) for “Best Driver” in the world. The resident of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., has six Top-10 finishes at the Indianapolis 500. He made an immediate splash in INDYCAR by earning Rookie of the Year honors in 2007 despite competing in just six of the 17 races. The following season he was Rookie of the Year at the Indianapolis 500 with a sixth-place finish. Away from the track, Hunter-Reay co-founded Racing For Cancer after his mother passed away from the disease. He is a self-proclaimed beach bum who spends much of his leisure time surfing, scuba diving and sport fishing. He and his wife Beccy have three children, Ryden (5), Rocsen (3) and Rhodes (2).
